Affectionately known as “The Cruise Ship Building,” Sky Harbour East has the enviable position of being the closest condominium to the Port Everglades channel. As cruise ships depart, Sky Harbour East residents wave and yell “Bon Voyage” from their individual balconies, only a stone’s throw away. It creates a very fun and celebratory environment.
Built in 1964 with 173 units, Sky Harbour has one-, two- and three-bedroom models that range from 900- to 1,904-square feet of living space. Units on the south side of the building have unobstructed vistas of the channel, ocean, a State park and the beachfront going south all the way down to Miami. North-facing units have scenic views of downtown Fort Lauderdale, and peeks of the ocean between neighboring oceanfront condominiums. All units have been conveniently fitted with hurricane impact glass for maximum building storm protection.
The amenities are impressive at Sky Harbour starting with the building’s exterior where there’s a relaxing heated swimming pool, a wide green lush lawn between the channel and the building, a practice putting green and shuffleboard court, and a fishing/bbq/picnic area. The building shares an adjacent, small private beach known as “The Cove” with neighboring condominiums, and there is a dedicated path that leads to the main public beach.
Inside, there’s a world-class gym with water views, a spacious lobby with 24-hour manned security, a community room with bar, TV and catering kitchen, a second pub/card room, bike storage, a private library and an extra storage room for all residents. Owners enjoy either upper deck parking convenient to the main lobby, or covered and uncovered underground parking on the lower level.
After one year of ownership, Sky Harbour East allows owners to rent their units one time per
year, with a minimum three-month lease. The community does not allow pets, unless it is a
verifiable emotional support or service animal.
